A Letter from Timor-Leste, January-February 2016

CSIL22Dear friends in the Lord,

I wish you all goodness as we begin 2016. Classes resumed at Colégio de Santo Inácio de Loiola on January 11. This was also the first school day for our students in Year 10.

Beside regular classes, we are also looking at how we can cover more of our operating expenses in the next five years until the education project is fully built. So we have a new project, “Sponsor a Teacher”. This new initiative is very important because each teacher will have an effect on the lives of many of our students. We recognize that teachers are needed not only in running a school each day, but also in building its legacy.

As 2016 unfolds, we hope our “Sponsor a Teacher” campaign will have a strong start. Let us continue supporting each other and entrusting all to the mercy of God, the Divine Master.

Blessings,

Fr Joaquim Sarmento SJ
Delegate to the Regional Superior
